Bastia Umbra hosts Rione Portella parade for Palio de San Michele

The 64th edition of the Palio de San Michele in Bastia Umbra continues with the Rione Portella parade, titled ‘DiCarta’, scheduled for Tuesday, September 22, in Piazza Mazzini. The performance, led by Captain Chiara Proietti, uses the metaphor of paper to explore themes of fragility, transformation, and unique identity, drawing inspiration from Elisabetta Gnone’s ‘Olga di carta’ and the Japanese tradition of paper cranes.

This year’s festivities also include the ‘CHE MALE C’È?’ anti-violence campaign, a collaborative effort between the Ente Palio de San Michele and the Rete delle Donne Antiviolenza (RAV). The competition follows previous parades by Rione Sant’Angelo and Rione Moncioveta, with Rione San Rocco set to conclude the cycle of parades on Wednesday, September 23.
