Bataan distributes MacBook Neo units to child development workers
The Provincial Government of Bataan distributed MacBook Neo units to 278 Child Development Workers (CDWs) on August 25 at the Tourism Pavilion in Balanga City. These digital tools are intended to assist workers in early childhood education, preparing learning activities, and facilitating EduChild sessions.
EduChild is a provincial program designed to implement the Parent Effectiveness Service Act, which aims to increase parental involvement in child development. Bataan’s implementation of this program preceded the nationwide rollout by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
The laptops were purchased using the Special Education Fund (SEF) at the Apple Education price of ₱33,990 per unit, saving ₱10,000 per device compared to the regular price. Following the distribution, Power Mac Center representatives provided training to ensure workers are familiar with the new equipment.
