João Pessoa hosts Batalha do Beco hip hop event this Saturday

The Batalha do Beco event will take place this Saturday at Praça Rio Branco in the historic center of João Pessoa. Featuring DJs Isa Queiroz and Raiteck, the event serves as a celebration of Black culture and hip hop diversity.

Organized by the Coletivo Batalha do Beco, the initiative is supported by the João Pessoa City Hall through its Cultural Foundation (Funjope). Marcus Alves, executive director of Funjope, noted that the project aims to value urban and youth cultures while promoting the active occupation of the city's historic center.

The event occurs every Saturday, providing a space for young people to demonstrate artistic mastery in musical and literary languages. Organizers emphasize that municipal support for infrastructure, such as stage, sound, and lighting, is vital for maintaining the quality of these public space occupations.
