Batam port revenue reaches Rp303 billion amid rising logistics activity

Port activities in Batam have shown significant growth, with port sector revenue reaching Rp303.14 billion, representing 61.85 percent of the annual target of Rp490.15 billion.

At the Batu Ampar General Terminal, general cargo handling reached 1,376,034 tons, exceeding 102 percent of the annual target. Total general cargo handling across all Batam ports reached 8,174,446 tons, an 8 percent increase compared to the previous year. Additionally, the Kabil Liquid Bulk General Terminal recorded 2,792,750 tons of handling, reaching 80 percent of its target.

Container traffic reached 542,927 TEUs, or 72 percent of the annual target. Passenger mobility, including both domestic and international travelers, rose by 8.02 percent to 6,718,075 people. BP Batam officials stated that these trends indicate a healthy economic and investment climate within the Batam Free Trade Zone. To support its position as an international transshipment hub in the Malacca Strait, the agency is focusing on infrastructure modernization, equipment electrification, and the digitalization of logistics services.
