Batemans Bay police investigate suspicious motel fire

Police have established a crime scene at the former Bay Waters Holiday Motel on Old Punt Road in North Batemans Bay after a fire was deemed suspicious. The blaze, which involved a two-storey building and a smaller structure, required a significant response from 15 Fire and Rescue vehicles and three police crews.

Firefighters battled the intense fire for nearly five hours, using tools to cut through fences and pull down ceilings to prevent the flames from spreading through the roof space. The site is currently owned by Transport for NSW. Authorities are appealing to the public for information and encouraging witnesses to contact Crime Stoppers.
