Batesville volunteers to build 50 beds for local children

Volunteers will gather at a Lowe’s in Batesville on Saturday, Sept. 12, to construct beds for local children as part of the Sleep in Heavenly Peace annual Bunks Across America initiative. The event, organized by the Oxford chapter of the nonprofit, aims to complete 50 beds for children in Batesville and surrounding areas who currently lack adequate sleeping arrangements.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a national nonprofit with over 400 local chapters dedicated to ensuring no child sleeps on a floor, sofa, or air mattress. The Batesville build is sponsored by Lowe’s and is designed to allow community members of all skill levels to participate in tasks such as sanding, drilling, and assembling wooden bed frames.
