Batman corn harvest begins with high yield expectations

Corn harvesting has commenced in Batman, Turkey, with officials projecting a significant yield. Necdet Tuncer, the Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry, reported that approximately 60,000 decares of corn have been planted across the region.

Authorities expect a total harvest of roughly 90,000 tons of corn. Tuncer noted that the yield is approximately 1.5 tons per decare, a figure he stated is above both national and global averages. The harvest is expected to continue until the end of October.

Tuncer also emphasized the importance of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry’s planned production program, which requires crop rotation to maintain soil health and organic matter. He warned that approximately 16,000 decares of land are currently not following these rotation practices, which could impact eligibility for planned production support.
