Batman Day 2026: Global celebrations mark 87 years of the DC hero

The global community celebrates Batman Day on September 19, 2026, marking 87 years since the character’s debut in Detective Comics #27. Organized by DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Discovery, the annual event features diverse activities including comic releases, streaming marathons on HBO Max, and public fan gatherings.

In Mexico City, celebrations include free outdoor movie screenings at Liverpool Perisur, featuring titles like The LEGO Batman Movie and Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman. Globally, the theme “Rule The Night” accompanies new media releases, such as the comic Batman of Two Worlds and various interactive video game updates.

Warner Bros. Animation has also released a trailer for Knightquest, the second part of the Batman: Knightfall animated trilogy. The film follows the aftermath of Bane breaking Bruce Wayne, focusing on Jean-Paul Valley (Azrael) as he assumes the mantle of the Dark Knight with more radical methods.
