Batman franchise unveils animated series season 2 and live‑action sequel release dates

Prime Video announced that the animated series *Batman: Caped Crusader* will return with a 10‑episode second season on July 31, 2024. The season’s first images show returning characters such as Edward Nygma, Carrie Kelly—who will don a Gray Ghost costume—and a gender‑bent version of Mad Hatter, alongside newcomers like Roxy Rocket. The show is a joint effort by DC Studios, Warner Bros. Animation, Bad Robot Productions and 6th & Idaho.

Warner Bros. also confirmed that *The Batman Part II* has begun filming and is slated for release on October 1, 2027. Robert Pattinson will reprise his role as the Dark Knight, with Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis and Colin Farrell returning. New cast members include Sebastian Stan as Harvey Dent, Scarlett Johansson as Gilda Dent, and Charles Dance as Charles Dent. Pattinson joked about the five‑year gap between the films, saying, “I’m like, ‘Well, I’ll do another movie in between’ … And then I ended up doing f—— a lot of movies.”
