The Batman: Part II release delayed to February 18 2028
Warner Bros. announced that the sequel to Matt Reeves’ 2022 film *The Batman* has been shifted from its previously planned October 2027 opening to February 18 2028. The studio released a short camera‑test teaser that shows Robert Pattinson in a rain‑soaked Batsuit with flashing police lights, confirming the new release date.
The teaser also revealed a modest costume adjustment – slightly longer ear tips on the cowl – which Reeves confirmed on social media. The film will again star Pattinson as Bruce Wayne, with returning cast members Colin Farrell, Andy Serkis, Jeffrey Wright and new additions such as Sebastian Stan, Scarlett Johansson, Charles Dance and others. Production is underway in the United Kingdom, and the project remains part of Warner Bros.’ Elseworlds line, independent of the main DCU.
The delayed schedule reflects broader strategic shifts at Warner Bros., allowing more development time for the sequel’s script, which cast members have described as “extraordinary” and a “contemporary genre masterpiece.”
