Batman villages resolve long-standing land boundary dispute
A long-standing land boundary dispute between the Arıkaya and Oyuktaş villages in the Kozluk district of Batman has been resolved following a decision by the Provincial Administrative Board. The conflict, which stemmed from inconsistencies in cadastral maps and affected land use and property rights, had occasionally caused tensions between residents.
To resolve the issue, the Oyuktaş Village Headman applied to the Kozluk District Governor's Office. In response, the Provincial Administrative Board dispatched a delegation of map engineers and cadastral experts to conduct a detailed investigation. The team examined historical boundary documents, title deeds, and the physical terrain, combining technical measurements with testimonies from local witnesses.
The resulting report led the Board to clarify the official boundaries both on maps and in the field. Following the decision, village leaders and residents gathered at the boundary line to celebrate the resolution with posters, signaling a commitment to unity and peaceful neighborly relations.
