Baton Rouge cultural institutions announce fall exhibitions and performances

Baton Rouge is hosting two distinct cultural events this fall. The Louisiana Art & Science Museum will host ‘The Honey Gold Experience’ at the Irene W. Pennington Planetarium on October 3. This immersive audio-visual performance by Louisiana artists Sariah Sizemore and Taylor Matherne utilizes the planetarium dome to present custom video collages, original music, and sound design.

Additionally, the LSU Museum of Art will present ‘Southern Gothic: Literary Intersections with Art from The Johnson Collection’ from October 1 through January 3, 2027. The exhibition explores the tension between idealized Southern imagery and historical realities through painting, printmaking, and sculpture. The collection features works inspired by authors such as William Faulkner and Toni Morrison, incorporating pieces from The Johnson Collection, the LSU Museum of Art, and various Louisiana institutions.
