Battalgazi hosts workshop to combat digital addiction

The İNTİBAK 2026 workshop, titled “Protective and Preventive Approaches in Internet-Related Addictions,” has concluded in Battalgazi. Organized by the Battalgazi Municipality in collaboration with the Battalgazi Guidance and Research Center, the event focused on addressing the risks of the digital world and promoting healthy technology use among children and youth.

The workshop involved approximately 300 psychological counselors and guidance teachers from the Malatya region. Participants engaged in three workshops and 12 thematic table discussions to evaluate the scientific, psychological, social, and educational dimensions of digital addiction. Representatives from İnönü University, Turgut Özal University, the Ministry of Family and Social Services, and the Ministry of Youth and Sports also attended.

Mesut Aşık, Director of the Battalgazi Guidance and Research Center, stated that the outcomes of the workshop will be compiled into reports for relevant ministries. The goal is to develop a specific module to combat digital addiction. Guidance teachers will play a key role by providing further training to other educators and parents to ensure a collaborative approach between families, schools, and public institutions.
