Battalgazi Municipality opens new 50-capacity nursery in Malatya
Battalgazi Municipality has opened a new nursery and daycare center in Malatya, following presidential directives to establish childcare facilities within public institutions. The facility was created by converting a former police station building located next to the municipal service building.
The center features four classrooms and has a total capacity of 50 children. The project took approximately two months to complete, during which the building was renovated to meet kindergarten standards.
Mayor Bayram Taşkın stated that the facility primarily aims to support municipal employees by providing a secure and nearby location for their children, though it is also open to children from outside the institution. Taşkın noted that this represents the first nursery in Malatya to be operated by a local government.
