Battersea Power Station submits final redevelopment plans

Studio Egret West has submitted updated masterplan proposals to Wandsworth Council for the final phases of the Battersea Power Station redevelopment in London. The plans cover the remaining 6.5 hectares of the 17-hectare site and aim to provide approximately 300,000 square meters of residential, commercial, leisure, and cultural space.

The revised vision includes a proposed cultural venue called ‘the Third Generator,’ designed to host a mix of arts, music, fashion, and sports. The masterplan emphasizes a more connected neighborhood through a network of streets, courtyards, and green spaces.

In conjunction with these development plans, Battersea Power Station officials have ruled out the possibility of hosting a new NBA Europe basketball arena on the site. A spokesperson stated that while the plans include venue space, the amount of land required for a major NBA arena is not compatible with the site’s future phases.
