Battery Care Tips for Makita Power Tools and Smartphones
For Makita cordless tools, the manufacturer recommends using only the original charger, charging at room temperature and avoiding extreme heat or cold. Fast charging should be limited, and batteries are best stored at 40‑60 % charge in a dry, cool place (10‑30 °C). Fully discharged cells should never be stored, and regular use helps keep capacity stable. Keep contacts clean, protect the battery from mechanical shocks, and monitor performance for signs of wear.
The TÜV SÜD advises smartphone users not to let lithium‑ion batteries fully discharge. Ideal charge levels are between 30 % and 70 % (some experts suggest 65‑75 %). Charging above 70 % or below 30 % should be avoided, as should overnight charging and leaving the charger connected continuously. Temperature also matters: avoid charging in very hot or very cold conditions, and use quality charging equipment. When storing devices for long periods, keep the battery at a half‑charged state and remove it if possible.
