Battery firms showcase at Debrecen Campus Festival

At the Campus Festival in Debrecen, several battery manufacturers set up booths, including three Chinese companies such as CATL, and a BMW assembly line. Festival‑goers were asked about the companies' visible presence and their activities at the event.

A joint water‑sampling project by Borsod24 and Parameter tested the Sajó River for contamination from a former mine. Analyses by the University of Miskolc found markedly elevated iron, arsenic, manganese and nickel, describing the water as industrial wastewater. The reports also noted teenage farming in Kecskemét, speculation that foreign workers might staff BYD’s Szeged plant, and a gigafactory under construction in Veszprém that has suffered significant damage.
