Battery maintenance tips for smartphones and power tools
To extend the lifespan of rechargeable batteries, users should avoid deep discharges and extreme temperatures. For Makita power tool batteries, experts recommend using original chargers and charging at room temperature. To maintain capacity, it is advisable to recharge once the level drops below 30 percent and to store batteries at a charge level between 40 and 60 percent in cool, dry locations.
Regarding smartphone batteries, TÜV SÜD advises against letting lithium-ion batteries drain completely, as deep discharges cause significant wear. Ideally, smartphone battery levels should be maintained between 30 and 70 percent. Users are also cautioned against overnight charging or leaving devices permanently connected to a charger once they reach full capacity.
