Battle Ground School District Board approves November 2026 levy proposal
The Battle Ground School District Board of Directors has unanimously voted to place an Education, Planning, and Operations (EP&O) levy on the November 2026 ballot. Following a presentation by Superintendent Shelly Whitten on July 16, 2026, the Board selected “Option #2” from four proposed levy alternatives.
The chosen option aims to balance the district’s minimum instructional needs with the financial capacity of local taxpayers. The proposal comes amid shifting mandates from the Washington State Legislature and changes in student population. The levy may also be used to secure loans to address funding gaps resulting from the absence of operating levy money in 2026.
