Battle in the Bay Classic tennis tournament begins in San Francisco

The Battle in the Bay Classic, an ITA-sanctioned tennis invitational, is being held at the California Tennis Club in San Francisco from October 1 to October 4. The tournament offers the singles champion a wild card into an ATP Challenger event.

TCU will be represented by Matthieu Chambonniere, Maximus Dussault, Albert Pedrico, and Kaj Quirijns. The Horned Frogs have a strong history at the event, having advanced at least one player to the singles last eight in six consecutive seasons. Pedrico and Dussault are among the team's nationally-ranked singles players.

Stanford is also participating with Gus Grumet and Mark Krupkin competing in both singles and doubles. This marks the collegiate debut for Grumet and the season opener for Krupkin. Stanford enters the tournament following a 19-9 overall season and a fifth consecutive appearance in the NCAA Championship round of 16.
