Battle of Britain Memorial faces funding crisis

The Battle of Britain Memorial in Dover is facing a significant funding crisis. The site, which honors the RAF pilots who defended Britain in 1940, receives no government support and relies entirely on charitable donations and visitor fees. Trustees and veterans have warned that the memorial risks falling into disrepair, with some describing the lack of funding as a disservice to those who served.

As the 86th anniversary of the Battle of Britain approaches, veterans are calling on the government to provide dedicated funds to preserve the national memorial. The site at Capel-le-Ferne includes a central statue, aircraft replicas, and a memorial wall listing the names of the pilots who fought during the conflict.
