Batu Bara Police Arrest Suspect in Tower Cable Theft

Police in Talawi, Batu Bara district, responded to a theft of a tower cable at Dusun VI Bunga Tanjung, Benteng Village. Police chief AKP Arianto Sitorus led the pursuit after a community report. One suspect, identified as 42‑year‑old E. K. from Medan, was arrested shortly after the incident; a second suspect remains at large.

The theft caused the tower cable to be severed, resulting in an estimated loss of Rp10 million to the victim. Officers recovered a motorcycle, a sack, a strand of tower cable, a machete, a pocket knife and a pair of pliers as evidence. The arrested suspect and the confiscated items are being held at the Talawi police station for further investigation, while the search for the remaining suspect continues.
