Batuk clothing brand enters bankruptcy process in Argentina

The Argentine clothing brand Batuk, managed by Barhut S.R.L., has entered a preventive bankruptcy process (concurso preventivo) due to a significant crisis in the local textile industry. The company, which employs 112 workers, reported a sharp decline in real sales, rising financial debt, and unpaid tax and social security obligations.

As of July 31, Barhut declared assets of $6,763.5 million against liabilities totaling $6,304.2 million. The legal process is being handled alongside Trown S.R.L., a firm sharing the same administration under an economic group. The company, which originated in the Avellaneda textile circuit in 2010, had recently attempted an expansion plan involving large-scale flagship stores in Buenos Aires.
