Batwara 1947 faces box office decline and OTT deal rumors

The partition-era film Batwara 1947, starring Sunny Deol and produced by Aamir Khan, is experiencing a decline at the box office. After a strong opening, the film earned 2.25 crore net on its fifth day of release, bringing its total worldwide gross collection to approximately 43.29 crore.

Reports suggest the film's performance has been impacted by a clash with the release of Awarapan 2. Additionally, rumors have surfaced regarding a rejected OTT deal. It is alleged that Aamir Khan declined a 60 crore rupee offer from an OTT platform to pursue alternative distribution models, such as pay-per-view or video-on-demand via YouTube. This decision reportedly led to dissatisfaction between the film's collaborators. Due to the current box office situation, the film's estimated OTT value has reportedly dropped to 30 crore rupees.
