Sunny Deol reportedly earns 60 crore rupees for ‘Batwara 1947’

The upcoming film ‘Batwara 1947’, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, is scheduled for release on August 14, 2026. Produced under Aamir Khan’s banner, the historical drama is set in Lahore following the 1947 Partition and is inspired by the work of Asghar Wajahat.

Reports regarding the film’s budget and cast fees have gained significant attention. While official figures have not been verified by the production house, reports suggest a budget of approximately 150 crore rupees. Leading actor Sunny Deol reportedly received 60 crore rupees for his role. Preity Zinta, making a return to the big screen after eight years, reportedly earned 10 crore rupees. Other cast members include Ali Fazal, who reportedly charged 7 crore rupees for a special appearance, and Abhimanyu Singh, who reportedly received 2 crore rupees. The ensemble also features Shabana Azmi, Karan Deol, and Kanika Kapur.

Despite the high-profile cast, some industry observers have noted a lack of pre-release buzz compared to other upcoming projects like ‘Awarapan 2’.
