Batwara 1947 rolls out 12‑city promo tour and re‑releases classic Sunny Deol films

PVR INOX will stage a special theatrical run of three iconic Sunny Deol films—*Damini* (July 24), *Ghatak* (July 31) and *Ghayal* (August 7)—as a tribute to the actor and a lead‑up to the period drama *Batwara 1947*.

The film, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and backed by Aamir Khan Productions, is set for worldwide theatrical release on August 14, 2026, coinciding with Partition Day. It reunites Deol with Santoshi after nearly three decades and features an ensemble cast that includes Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Karan Deol, Ali Fazal and Abhimanyu Singh, with music by A.R. Rahman and lyrics by Javed Akhtar.

Ahead of the release, the makers announced a 12‑city promotional tour across India, during which the cast and crew will meet audiences and promote the film.

The coordinated re‑release of the classic titles and the extensive promotional schedule aim to generate anticipation for the film’s debut.
