Bauchi Governor Bala Mohammed appoints four new commissioners in cabinet reshuffle

Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed announced a minor cabinet reshuffle less than a year before the end of his administration, appointing four new commissioners. The appointees are Madaki Ahmad Gololo (Small and Medium Enterprises and Cooperatives), Bashir Yau (Youth and Sports Development), Bashir Adamu Rishi (Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management) and Baraya Ibrahim (Commerce, Industry and Investment). The reshuffle follows the resignation of several commissioners pursuing political ambitions ahead of the 2027 elections and the removal of two others, with additional redeployments to the ministries of Culture and Tourism, Rural Development and Special Duties, and Finance and Economic Development. Governor Mohammed stressed that the changes aim to ensure representation for all local government areas and urged the new officials to uphold integrity, accountability and transparency in managing public resources.
