Bauchi Governor Mohammed pledges judicial support and orders security reports
Bauchi State Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening the justice system. Speaking at the commencement of the 2026/2027 Legal Year, Mohammed described the judiciary as the last hope of the common man and pledged to prioritize the welfare of judicial officers to ensure the speedy dispensation of justice.
During the ceremony, Chief Judge Rabi Talatu Umar reported that the state judiciary generated over ₦66 million in revenue during the previous year, all of which was remitted to the state government.
In a separate directive, Governor Mohammed ordered the 20 Local Government Chairmen in Bauchi State to submit monthly security reports. This measure aims to improve intelligence gathering in response to security challenges in areas such as Alkaleri, Toro, Ganjuwa, and Ningi. The Governor noted that the Presidency has approved the deployment of additional military battalions to strategic locations, including Toro, Tafawa Balewa, and Alkaleri, to reinforce security operations.
