Bauchi health agency head and four children die in road accident

Alhaji Ibrahim Ladan Duguri, the Executive Secretary of the Bauchi State Health Contributory Management Agency (BASHCMA), and four of his children died in a fatal road accident on Saturday evening. The crash occurred at Yalwan Duguri in the Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State while the family was traveling to their village.

The deceased children have been identified as Hajara, Usman, Rukayya, and Maryam. One other son, Suleiman, survived the accident and is currently receiving medical treatment.

Bauchi State Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed described the incident as a “monumental loss to the state,” praising Duguri for his dedication to improving healthcare access for vulnerable residents. The Governor also noted his personal connection to the deceased as a former classmate and close friend. The remains were scheduled for burial in Yalwan Duguri according to Islamic rites.
