Nigeria police conduct nationwide operations and arrests

Nigerian law enforcement agencies have conducted extensive nationwide operations resulting in numerous arrests and the recovery of weapons across several states. In Lagos, police arrested six suspects linked to a cargo diversion syndicate allegedly responsible for the disappearance of imported goods valued at over N20 billion over 19 years.

In Abia State, a 28-year-old man was apprehended for alleged cultism and unlawful possession of a pump-action shotgun following a dispute over an unpaid mobile device. Other regional successes include the arrest of a motorcycle-snatching syndicate in Jigawa, Kaduna, and Kano, which is linked to the deaths of nine people.

In Niger State, police rescued a two-month-old baby from a suspected child trafficker and detained a security guard in connection with the death of an 11-year-old girl. Additional operations in Nasarawa and Oyo states led to the foiling of kidnapping plots and the arrest of suspects involved in sexual violence and armed robbery.
