Bauchi Police arrest suspected drug dealer with Methylene Chloride

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested 23-year-old Aliyu Suleman for suspected drug dealing in the Bauchi metropolis. During an intelligence-led operation by the Vehicle Crime Response Unit at Bayan Gari on August 25, 2026, officers recovered 64 bottles of Methylene Chloride—locally known as ‘Suck and Die’—and 17 pieces of rubber solution.

Police spokesperson Nafiu Habib stated that the arrest is part of ongoing efforts to combat drug abuse and protect public health. Suleman, a resident of Tudun Salmanu, is currently in custody and is expected to face court charges following the conclusion of the investigation.

Commissioner of Police Sani-Omolori Aliyu has ordered all Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers to increase surveillance to dismantle networks involved in the sale of harmful substances. The command also urged community members and parents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security agencies.
