Bauchi Police arrest two suspects following thuggery crackdown

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested two suspects following a crackdown on Sara-Suka thuggery and violent disturbances in the Bauchi metropolis.

On October 11, a group of youths reportedly stormed the Wayan Makafi and Unguwan Kur areas, causing panic among residents. Police patrol teams, working alongside members of the Yan Committee, intervened to disperse the group. During the incident, a member of the Yan Committee sustained injuries while assisting law enforcement but is reported to be in stable condition.

In a separate incident on the same day, police arrested 25-year-old Abubakar Adamu Aliyu, known as Zadous, a suspected Sara-Suka kingpin. Aliyu was allegedly involved in an attempt to attack a Peace Corps personnel at a residence in Kofar Dumi using dangerous weapons. Authorities noted that Aliyu had previously been charged with thuggery and had recently regained freedom before the alleged revenge mission.
