Bauchi police investigate murder of former APC women leader
The Bauchi State Police Command has launched an investigation into the murder of Jemimah Dutse, a former Zonal Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi South. Her body was discovered at her residence in the Mu’azu New Layout, Yelwa, on Saturday afternoon with her throat slit.
Police spokesperson Nafiu Habib confirmed that detectives documented the scene and moved the body to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital for an autopsy. State Commissioner of Police Sani-Omolori Aliyu has transferred the case to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department for a thorough investigation.
The Take-It-Back (TIB) Movement, Bauchi State Chapter, has condemned the killing as a “senseless act of violence.” The group expressed concern regarding resident safety and the broader security environment in the state, calling for the establishment of a high-powered investigative panel and urging security agencies to provide transparent updates to the family and the public.
