Nigerian politicians donate millions to flood and fire victims

Former Bauchi State governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar announced a total contribution of N27 million to communities hit by recent floods and bandit attacks. The cash, rice and sugar were handed to residents of Alkaleri, Kirfi, Bara and Sabongarin Pali, with N17 million earmarked for flood‑stricken villages and N10 million for those affected by bandit violence.

In Oyo State, candidates and party leaders responded to a market fire that destroyed goods and livelihoods in Ibadan's Bode Market. APC governorship candidate Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli pledged N25 million, APM candidate Bimbo Adekanmbi gave N2.5 million, the APC state women leader contributed N5 million and masks, while other party candidates donated building materials and cash, bringing total aid to over N50 million for the victims.
