Baudrigue massacre: Nazi execution of fifteen Resistance members

On August 19, 1944, Nazi forces executed fifteen members of the French Resistance at the Baudrigue estate in Roullens, Aude. The prisoners, who had been held in Carcassonne, included individuals such as Jean Bringer and Aimé Ramond.

Following the executions, German soldiers placed the bodies on ammunition containers and detonated the explosives. This act was intended to destroy evidence and make the identification of the victims difficult or impossible. The massacre occurred as German forces were preparing to retreat from the Aude department following the advancing Allied forces.
