Bauer Media Audio Ireland leads radio market in latest JNLR results
Bauer Media Audio Ireland has maintained its position as the largest radio group in Ireland, according to the latest Joint National Listenership Research (JNLR) results covering October 2025 to September 2026. The group reported 2.29 million weekly listeners and 1.53 million daily listeners across its portfolio, which includes Today FM, Newstalk, 98FM, SPIN 1038, SPIN South West, Red FM, iRadio, and Beat. Bauer Media holds a 29.59% Prime-Time Market Share.
Newstalk experienced significant growth following a schedule refresh, reaching a record weekly audience of 882,000. Notable increases were seen for The Claire Byrne Show, which grew by 12,000 listeners, and The Hard Shoulder, which increased by 17,000.
RTÉ Radio 1 reported a weekly listenership of 1.365 million. While Morning Ireland remains the most listened to programme with 464,000 listeners, it saw a slight decrease compared to the previous year. Other shifts included gains for Liveline with Kieran Cuddihy, which grew by 14,000 listeners to reach 268,000, and 2FM Breakfast, which saw an increase of 14,000 listeners to 189,000. Conversely, Doireann Garrihy’s mid-morning show on 2FM saw a daily decline of 7,000 listeners, falling to 79,000.
