BauGrund Süd opens new energy-efficient headquarters in Bad Wurzach
BauGrund Süd, a member of the Weishaupt Group, has completed a new administrative building at its headquarters in Bad Wurzach, Germany. The facility was constructed according to the KfW-40 energy efficiency standard.
The building utilizes a regenerative energy concept featuring three 400-meter-deep earth probes and three Weishaupt brine/water heat pumps (Geoblock WGB 20) using the natural refrigerant R290 (propane). This system provides efficient heating and cooling. Passive cooling is achieved via the earth probes, while a 16-meter-deep well provides additional cooling capacity.
Additional features include a 75 kWp photovoltaic system on the flat roof and control technology from Neuberger. The new competence center provides space for 80 workstations and will house two BauGrund Süd subsidiaries specializing in geotechnics and soil remediation, as well as the ErdEnergie Management GmbH planning office.
