Bauhaus expands online marketplace and extends sports partnership
Bauhaus has reported significant growth in its online marketplace one year after its launch. The platform has expanded its assortment by nearly 100,000 new items and now includes 100 partner sellers. The company, which is headquartered in Switzerland and operates in 19 European countries, aims to complement its physical retail presence with this digital expansion.
Chief Digital Officer Johannes Wechsler noted that while the new assortment was large, initial product page views were low. To address this visibility issue, Bauhaus has adjusted its search algorithm to ensure new and relevant products appear more effectively in search results. The company reported that partner products maintain high ratings, timely delivery, and return rates comparable to Bauhaus’s own inventory.
In related regional developments, the PROBAU brand, associated with Bauhaus, has extended its partnership with the German football club VfR Mannheim through the 2026/27 season. The sponsorship supports both the first team and the youth academy, including the continuation of the PROBAU CUP tournament.
