Bauhausligan announces new speedway regulations for 2027 season

Svensk Elitspeedway and the Swedish Motorsport Federation (Svemo) have announced updated regulations for the 2027 Bauhausligan speedway season. Key changes include adjustments to team averages, with the maximum average increasing from 10.500 to 10.750 while the floor remains at 8.000.

Teams will have increased flexibility to modify their rosters during the season, with the number of transfer cards expanded to five and riders replacement available four times during the regular season. Additionally, a driver's official rolling average will only apply after they have completed twelve heats.

The playoff structure is also being revised. While the quarterfinal series remains unchanged from 2026, the semifinals will transition from a series format to a home-and-away format, where the aggregate result of the two matches determines the winner. The highest-seeded team from the regular season will have the right to choose whether to host the first final match at home or away.

New requirements for squad composition have been introduced to support young talent. A seven-person squad with an average above 1.249 must include at least one foreign U21 rider. Furthermore, every team is required to have at least two U21 riders, with at least one holding a Svemo license, and at least two Svemo-licensed senior riders.
