Baume & Mercier expands Clifton line with perpetual calendar

Baume & Mercier has expanded its Clifton collection with the introduction of the Clifton Quantième Perpétuel. This new timepiece features a steel case and a glacier blue dial, incorporating a complex perpetual calendar complication powered by the brand’s in-house Baumatic manufacture movement.

The perpetual calendar is designed to track the Gregorian calendar automatically, accounting for varying month lengths and leap years. This mechanical system requires no manual adjustments until the year 2100. The watch displays the day, date, month, moon phase, and leap year indicator on a single face, utilizing a structured layout to maintain legibility despite the density of information.

By integrating this high-level complication into the stainless steel Clifton line, the brand aims to provide a more accessible entry point to complex astronomical watchmaking while maintaining a design aesthetic inspired by the 1950s.
