Baumer Launches Innovation Lab for Advanced Sensor Testing in Switzerland

Baumer has opened a 1,300‑square‑metre Innovation Lab in Frauenfeld, Switzerland, to conduct extensive testing of its sensors under extreme conditions. The facility runs continuous leakage, shock, vibration, temperature, artificial ageing, performance and verification tests that go beyond normative standards, aiming to identify and eliminate weak points early in development.

The lab supports Baumer’s quality strategy for demanding applications such as mobile machines and railway systems, ensuring sensors deliver precise data over long‑term deployment. Wolfgang Wehrle, Head of Development at Baumer, said the new testing routines are a key component in meeting the high‑precision requirements of the world’s leading manufacturers.
