Bavaria honors twelve butcheries for exceptional craftsmanship

The Bavarian state government has awarded twelve butcheries for their exceptional artisanal achievements. This year, the number of honored businesses increased from ten to twelve, with eight establishments achieving a maximum score of 5.0 during the selection process.

To qualify for the state prize, businesses must demonstrate outstanding results for five consecutive years. The selection was conducted by a jury using criteria such as the Metzger Cup and DLG examinations. Among the winners are several businesses from Upper Bavaria and a butchery from the Dillingen district.

In addition to the butcheries, six vocational schools also received recognition. The state government continues to support the meat industry through various funding programs, emphasizing the importance of the craft to the regional economy.
