Bavaria hosts Climate Week with regional sustainability initiatives

The Bavarian Climate Week is taking place from October 9 to October 18, featuring various initiatives, consultations, and workshops focused on environmental protection across Bavaria. A highlight of the opening includes a light projection at Neuschwanstein Castle, where “Bavarian climate stripes” will represent average annual temperatures from 1881 to 2025.

In Munich, the event will conclude with the Local Conference of Youth (LCOY) from October 16 to 18, where young people will collaborate on sustainability ideas. Regional activities include film screenings and workshops designed for families and youth, such as a sustainability-themed film in Günzburg.

In Bayreuth, the city has released an interactive greenhouse gas monitor to track progress toward its goal of climate neutrality by 2040. Mayor Andreas Zippel stated that while the city is currently on track, continuous efforts in renewable energy, building renovation, and transport are required to ensure emissions keep declining.
