Bavaria increases club funding for 2026

The Bavarian state government has announced continued financial support for sports and shooting clubs through the 2026 Vereinspauschale (club allowance). The total funding amount will increase by approximately 716,000 euros compared to the previous year, reaching nearly 29 million euros.

Funding is calculated based on promotional units, with the value of each unit set at 36 cents for 2026. Due to a rise in club memberships and instructor licenses, the number of promotional units is expected to increase by approximately two million compared to 2025, reaching a new record high.

Interior and Sports Minister Joachim Herrmann stated that the support aims to ensure widespread, high-quality, and affordable sports and movement opportunities. State Parliament member Bernhard Pohl noted that the funding serves as a low-bureaucracy method to support volunteers and community life, specifically highlighting that local areas like Kaufbeuren will receive significant allocations.
