Bavaria invests 481 million euros in hospital construction projects

The Bavarian state government is investing approximately 481 million euros this year into more than 100 construction projects across various clinics in the region. Health Minister Judith Gerlach and Finance Minister Albert Füracker announced the release of the 2026 annual hospital construction program, noting that funding for three major projects in Nuremberg, Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz, and Wasserburg am Inn can begin one year earlier than originally scheduled.

To facilitate this, the state has increased the hospital investment budget by 100 million euros, bringing the total to 900 million euros. These additional funds are sourced from the special fund for infrastructure and climate neutrality. The 2026 program includes 105 individual measures with a total cost volume of approximately 4.6 billion euros. Key individual projects include the Memmingen Clinic, with a cost volume of 352.39 million euros, and the Nuremberg Clinic, totaling 124.08 million euros.
