Bavaria Pushes Munich Olympic Bid and Tech‑Driven Job Growth

The Bavarian Economic Council held an event in Munich praising the city’s commitment to hosting the Olympic and Paralympic Games, describing the gathering as a “full success” and urging supporters to register via a QR code. The council highlighted the unified stance of Munich and the Free State of Bavaria as a strong signal for the bid.

At the same time, Bavarian Economic Minister Hubert Aiwanger addressed the vbw Congress on the state’s labour market, noting a stable unemployment rate of 4.0% – the lowest among German states. He called for turning innovations in artificial intelligence, semiconductors, aerospace, health, energy, and defence into jobs, stressing the need for flexible frameworks such as minijobs and lower wage costs to keep Bavaria competitive.

Both initiatives underline Bavaria’s strategy to combine major international events with a focus on high‑tech industry growth to sustain its economic competitiveness.
