Bavaria reports nearly 50% drop in illegal entries
Illegal entries into Bavaria have decreased significantly, according to data from the Federal Police. Between the beginning of the year and the end of September, 6,154 unauthorized entries were recorded, representing a decline of nearly 50 percent compared to the 10,989 entries recorded during the same period in 2025.
Of those who entered illegally, 423 individuals were immediately rejected or pushed back at the border by the Federal Police. This leaves 5,731 people who remained in the state following an unauthorized entry, averaging approximately 21 people per day, often to undergo asylum procedures.
The downward trend in unauthorized entries has been consistent since 2023, when figures exceeded 34,000. In the previous year, the number fell to approximately 14,631. While illegal entries have dropped, the Bavarian Ministry of the Interior reported that repatriations increased by 21 percent in 2025 to 3,649, and voluntary departures rose by 7 percent last year to 15,764.
