Bavaria weather forecast shows potential for Indian summer

Bavaria is experiencing a transition to autumn weather following a significant temperature drop from 30 degrees Celsius to below 20 degrees. The German Meteorological Service (DWD) predicts a period of fluctuating conditions, with clouds, sun, and rain alternating.

While the upcoming weekend is expected to remain relatively warm with daytime highs between 21 and 24 degrees Celsius, nighttime temperatures may drop into the single digits. The following week is forecasted to begin with rain, particularly in areas between the Alps and the Bavarian Forest, though northern Bavaria may see more sunshine and temperatures reaching 25 degrees Celsius.

There are indications of a potential ‘Indian summer’ (Altweibersommer) developing, which could bring warmer temperatures toward the middle of September, coinciding with the start of Oktoberfest.
