Bavarian Brass Choirs Hold Local Service and World Record Attempt
A brass service was held at Schloss Kugelhammer in Röthenbach, organized by the Posaunenchor Röthenbach/St. Wolfgang together with trombone choirs from Wendelstein and Kornburg. About 40 musicians performed under the theme “Rainbow,” playing pieces such as “Over the Rainbow” for a summer‑time outdoor congregation.
In a separate event, the Dekanatsposaunenchor Sulzbach‑Rosenberg took part in a 72‑hour nonstop trombone performance in the Jakobskirche in Nürnberg, contributing to a world‑record attempt that gathered roughly 1 850 brass players from across Bavaria. The effort, coordinated by choir director Claudia Vogel, aimed to set a new record for continuous trombone music.
