Bavarian Communities Host Open Health Days for Public Wellness
The health office in Ebersberg, Germany, held an open house under the theme “Diversity for Health.” Visitors could observe the office’s work, take part in activities such as blood‑pressure checks, vision tests, and a dementia‑screening in cooperation with the Digital Dementia Register Bavaria (digiDEM). The event also featured historical displays, a chance to try a sensory course, and a lottery, with online registration available for the screening.
On Saturday, 12 September, the Volkshochschule (vhs) in Vilsbiburg hosted its first health day. The three‑hour program offered hands‑on sessions in Zumba, Hula‑Hoop, Qi Gong, yoga, Pilates, and core‑training, as well as mindfulness and resilience workshops. Lectures covered nutrition, healthy lifestyles, and information on care and hospice work. Regional partners such as the German Heart Foundation, AOK, and LA‑Regio Kliniken presented their services, and family‑friendly activities like Zumba Kids and child first‑aid were available.
